SCREENSHOTS: RFID SerialMagic scanner setup for Mac

To install SerialIO on an Apple computer, you will need to register your device with Apple, through SerialIO.  (This is an Apple requirement, not an EquipmentOps requirement.)

(1) To register your device, go to SerialIO and download the MacOS version of SerialMagic.

(2) After it's been downloaded and installed, open Serial Magic.  It should be located in your Applications folder in your Finder folder.  Double click and open Serial Magic.

(3) You should see a popup window that looks like this.

(4) Click the License icon.  This will take you the registration key. (5) You should see a screen that looks like this.  You will notice that the Registration Key field is blank.  This is what you need to fill before your RFID reader will work.

(6) To obtain your registration key, copy your Computer ID and email it to Serial IO.  Go to

https://www.serialio.com/support/submit-ticket

Use this text template in the body.  Replace the Computer ID with yours.

Please provide my registration key for my Serialio RFID scanner (ICEKEY UHF device).

My computer ID is XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXX.

Thank You

After you fill out all the fields - send the ticket to SerialIO.  They will register your computer and they send you an email, with the registration key. (Time for response depends on SerialIO; it is not an automatic response.)

After you receive your Registration Key email:

(1) Open your SerialIO preferences.

(2) Select your device you plan to use the scanner with.

(3) Select the Ultra-PD1 scanner.  This is a USB attached scanner.

(4) Make sure the Constant Read mode is unchecked and you have given your reader ample power. 19 is a good starting power.

(5) Make sure you change the data to ASCII.  If you don't you will not be able to recognize the tag when it is read.

(6) Now move to the Registration tab.

(7)  Copy and paste the Key into the Registration Key field and press Apply.

(8)  You should see the "Application is registered."  message.

(9) At this point, you should be good to go to start using your SerialIO RFID reader.
