What's New with Helmet Parts

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, we changed how the inventory system tracks the parts installed on each helmet.

What's changed?

Previously, when logging a part on a helmet, you had to choose from a fixed, system-wide list of part names and categories that we maintained. Going forward, you'll be able to build your own list of parts (facemask, chinstrap, side liner, etc.) and the part options associated with each part — tailored to what you actually use.

Why did we make this change?

Every program uses a specific list of helmet parts. While the old master list was pretty comprehensive, a one-size-fits-all list meant scrolling through options you'd never use to find the ones you needed.

What is the benefit?

Your dropdown lists will only show the parts and part options relevant to your program, and you can name them using your terminology. That means faster data entry, fewer mis-selected parts, and records that actually reflect your equipment room — not a generic catalog.

What do you need to do?

Nothing right away — your existing part records will carry over automatically. When you find a part that isn’t on your list, you can add it by going to the SETTINGS menu item, then clicking on either Helmet Part or Helmet Part Options
